From Here, Big Things

From Here, Big Things speaks to the power of place, community and creative expression.This exhibition emerges from a time of transition, a new year, a new mindset, a new approach, with the same emphasis on sharing stories, knowledge and practice.  

“Here” refers to Spinifex Hill Studio in the present moment. From this grounded starting point, big things are planned, imagined and executed. The exhibition emphasises the importance of looking forward with ambition while remaining deeply connected to history, culture and Country.  

The “big things” are not only the large-scale artworks on the walls, but also the cultural knowledge they carry – the intergenerational exchange, the personal journeys, and the collective ambition of the Spinifex Hill artists. The scale reflects not just physical size, but significance. The works selected are bold, commanding, and full of presence — artworks that take up space, make a mark, and reflect a powerful trajectory of growth.
